Deadly Separation

Narrator:  In their last battle with Empress Katie and Warlady Sarah, Sai and Ryo found a caring side to them.  Now the Ronins are even more determined to free the girl's from the Dynasty's evil grasp.

In Mia's study, all of the Ronins were standing around her and her computer.  Yuki, Tama and Yuli were standing off to the side.  "This is so frustrating!!!!" Ryo yelled.  "I can't stand it!!"

Rowen whispered to Sage, "Keep him away from the antiques."  Sage almost burst out laughing.

"Ryo, try to stay calm.  Yelling won't get you anywhere," Mia said.

"ANUBIS!!!!!  Where are you?!!!" Ryo yelled out.  Suddenly, Anubis appeared in the room.  "Anubis, we need your help."

"How would we go about freeing Katie and Sarah's souls from the Dynasty?" Sai asked.

    "I don't know."

"What?!!!" Ryo yelled as he slammed his fist against the wall.  "There has to be a way!"

Sage stepped forward.  "Can't your staff do it?"

"Or the Jewel of Life?" Rowen said.

    "The jewel?" Ryo asked.

Sai said, "But we don't even know what happened to the jewel.  After Talpa was destroyed, it disappeared."

"Anubis, do you know where it is?" Kento asked.

Anubis opened his bag around his neck and lifted out the jewel of life.  "You've got it?!" Ryo asked.

"How'd you get it?" Kento asked.

"It came to me in the Dynasty and restored my life," he narrated a recollection of events, showing Anubis laying face down in the water and the jewel coming to him, glowing as he begins to stand up.

Sai asked, "Do you think that it would do the trick?"

"It makes more sense than the Ancient's staff.  The staff worked with Kayura, but she was also a member of the Ancient's clan.  I'm assuming that Katie and Sarah aren't.  Maybe that's a factor with the staff," Rowen said.

"I agree with Rowen," Mia stated.  "Anubis?"

"I suppose yes.  Here, Mia.  Take the jewel.  I hope that you can bring Katie and Sarah back to us," Anubis said as he disappeared.

"That doesn't even look like a jewel.  Just looks like a shell to me," Yuki said.

"The jewel of life is cool!  I defeated Talpa with it," Yuli bragged.

"Why don't you three go to bed now," Mia said.

    "Aw, Mia!" Yuli complained.

"Go!" The three of them left the room.

"Mia, can I see that?" Sage asked.

"Sure, Sage."  She handed the jewel to him.  (The background color flashed green to show his connection with the jewel.)

    "Whatcha doin' Sage?" Kento asked.

"Just looking at it.  I never got the chance to see it up close before."

"Neither have I.  Can I see it?" Kento asked.  Sage held it out to him and Rowen grabbed it first.  (The background flashed dark blue.)  "Hey, man!  Let me see!"

Rowen inspected it and then threw it to Sai.  (The background flashed light blue.)  Sai was quite surprised, and then even more surprised to find Kento running at him.  Sai threw the jewel at Ryo.  Mia yelled, "Stop it!!!!"  Ryo caught the jewel ( and the background flashed red).

"Ryo, bro, give me the jewel," Kento said.

Ryo said, "I don't know.  Should I?"  Rowen shook his head no.

"Boys!" Mia said.  Ryo reluctantly held the jewel out to Kento and Rowen ducked around him and stole it.

"Two times!!  I'm gonna get you!" Kento yelled as he chased Rowen down the hallway.  Rowen stumbled down the stairs.

"I don't know how I stand it.  Living with five boys," Mia said.

"Yeah, I'm surprised you haven't kicked us out yet," Ryo told her.

Rowen was still running from Kento and Kento was gaining on him.  Suddenly Rowen stopped and held the jewel out to Kento.  "Why'd you give up, man?"

"It was getting boring.  You're too slow for me," Rowen said.

"Hey!"  Then, Rowen ran down back into the house with the jewel.  Kento never touched it.

In the Dynasty:  Emperor Kubi was sitting on his throne when Katie and Sarah appeared before him. "I have called you here to inform you about Anubis."

    "Who's Anubis?" Katie asked.

"Wait, isn't he that traitor dude?" Sarah asked.  "Yeah!  He left us and took The Ancient's place!"

"He was the leader of the Warlords, right?" Katie answered.

"You girls have been doing your homework.  I need you to study up on him some more, and destroy him for good.  And that staff of his.  Get to work!" the Emperor said.

In a Dynasty hut:  Katie and Sarah are sitting on the floor.

"What's the best way to lure Anubis to us?" Katie asked herself.  "Pretend to want to turn good or something?"

"There's a better way, and it's much more fun too," Sarah said, excited.

"Well, what is it?" Katie demanded.

"Let me show you."  An image appeared before them.  It was of Ryo in a fight with Sekmet's poison and Ryo said, Help me Ancient One!  Then Anubis' staff began go glow.

"But the Ronins haven't asked for help in so long.  How are we supposed to get Ryo to do it?" Katie asked, seriously.

"Easy.  You just bend the little worm until he breaks!" Sarah said, smiling as she punched her fist into her palm.

"They've always seemed more vulnerable split up, and we've always divided them up between us, in battle," Katie said, seemingly lost in thought.

"Why don't we ACTUALLY break them up!  I mean, we just might like it," Sarah exclaimed.

    "Like, teleport them?" Katie asked.

"You read my mind."  They both smiled evilly.

It's Morning at the Koji Manor: Everyone's asleep.

(Rowen's wearing a navy blue t-shirt.) Rowen sat up in bed and stretched, then looked at Sage, who was still sleeping.  "What time is it?!" Rowen checked the clock. "It's too early!" He collapsed in his bed and fell back to sleep, just as Sage's alarm went off. "Aww, turn it off!"  Sage was still sleeping, and Rowen ripped the cord out of the wall.

Sai's in the kitchen, cooking pancakes and Kento was eating them.  "Kento, save some for me!"   (Sai was wearing a blue striped hooded shirt with white jeans.  Kento was wearing an orange sweatshirt and white jeans.) Sai glanced at the door as Ryo was walking in with a violin, pretending to play it.  "Ryo!"

"You're not going to tell on me are you?" Ryo pleaded. (Ryo was wearing a white t-shirt with a red R on it, a red long sleeved red shirt underneath and faded blue jeans.)

"Sage!!!" Sai went upstairs and into Sage and Rowen's room.  Kento and Ryo followed.

"I've never known you to be a tattle tale," Kento said.

"I'm not!" Sai said as he saw Sage and Rowen sleeping.  Kento and Ryo stayed in the doorway, Ryo hiding the violin, just incase.  "Sage, wake up."  Sage slowly opened his eyes.  "Don't you have to be at practice now?"

    "Practice?" Sage asked, groggy.

"For the Toyama Symphony Orchestra," Sai stated.

Sage was suddenly wide awake. "Oh, no!  What time is it?!"  Sage turned to look at his alarm clock, but found it on the floor, and not plugged in. "Rowen!" Sage said, gritting his teeth.  Sage stormed out of the room, mumbling something that sounded like "thanks" to Sai, and started down the hall to a clock on the wall.  He pushed his hair back, off his face and stared at the clock, then stormed back into his room.  "Rowen!  I'm gunna kill you!"

"Maybe we shouldn't watch," Sai said, but they all continued to stare into the room, not even blinking.  Rowen screamed with surprise and pain.  Then Sage stormed out again, grabbing the instrument out of Ryo's hands saying, "Gimme my violin."

"Wow, he didn't even yell at me," Ryo said, surprised.

"AND DON'T EVER TOUCH IT AGAIN!!!!" Sage yelled.

Ryo said, "Hmm, spoke to soon."

Rowen stumbled out of his room.  "You make one little mistake!"

"For the third time," Sai stated, rolling his eyes.

    Later:

The three kids were running thought the living room, and there is violin music in the background.  Rowen walked into the room where the music was coming from.  Sage was playing a sad song with lots of emotion. "Can you stop, I've got a headache, thanks to someone!"

"Well, I didn't get the chance to play this morning thanks to a so called friend of mine," Sage said sternly.  "You're just lucky I wasn't kicked out of the orchestra."

"Whatever." Rowen walked outside and sat on the lawn next to Ryo.

    "What's up, man?" Ryo asked.

"Tell me this.  Why do people always get so mad at me?"

"Well.  You can be rude and inconsiderate and mean and-"

"Okay, okay!  I get it already!" Rowen exclaimed.  "I'm a terrible person."

"No, just a little rough around the edges.  Relax, Rowen.  You're cool."

"If I'm so cool, why is it that the only friends I've ever had find me to be mean, among other things?" Rowen asked as he stood and turned to go back into the the house.  Ryo stuck his arm out and tripped Rowen.  Rowen shuffled to his feet and kept walking.  Ryo got up tackled him.  "What are you doing?!"

"Being mean, among other things," Ryo answered.  "Do you still think I'm your friend?"

Rowen pushed Ryo off of him. "Yes, because you're just being a goof, not mean.  Now leave me a-" Rowen was cut off by Ryo's actions.  Ryo was holding a long piece of grass so it was lightly tickling his nose.  "Stop it, Ryo." Rowen grabbed the grass and threw it.  "Why are you acting like this?  So annoying?" Rowen demanded.

"Am I still your friend?" Ryo questioned.

"Yes!" Rowen burst out, annoyed at Ryo's behavior.

    "See?"

"See what?!" Rowen was getting angry.

    "Do you?" Ryo asked persistently.

   "You're not making any sense!"

"I'm still your friend!!!" Ryo exclaimed.

"Yeah!" Rowen's tone was, well, duh!

"See!! You're still my friend, and I'm still yours!!  Adios!" Ryo said as he walked away.  Rowen just stood there, confused.  Then Yuli and Tama ran by, being chased by Yuki.  Yuki turned back to Rowen and touched his leg.

    "Tag, you're it!!" she exclaimed.

"Oo, I'm gunna get you now!" he said as he began to chase her.  Suddenly, it got very dark and lightning struck on the front lawn.  All the Ronins ran outside as their undergear appeared, and they all disappeared.

Mia gasped, looking out the window.  "Where'd they go!"

Sage, Ryo and Rowen reappeared in a desert-like area.  Sai and Kento reappeared in a grassy field.

Katie appeared behind Sage, Rowen and Ryo.  "Nice to see you boys again."

They spun around to face her.  "Katie," Sage said.

Ryo said, "Well, I see you're up to your old tricks again."

Katie laughed, "Brainless as usual, Ryo.  This is a brand new trick.  Not an old one."

"New or old, it's still low!" Rowen protested.

Katie sighed.  "I'm so unappreciated.  Now, put on your armor.  I want a quality fight."

"You'll lose," Ryo said confidently.  "ARMOR OF WILDFIRE!!!!!  TOU JIN!"

    "ARMOR OF HALO!!!!!!  TOU CHI!"

    "ARMOR OF STRATA!!!!!!  TOU INOCHI!"

Sai and Kento were standing back to back in the field.  Sarah began to float up out of the ground in-between the two ronins.  Without a word, she knocked them to the ground with her staff, and crept the rest of the way out of the ground.  She began to laugh.

"Dude, she doesn't waste any time," Kento said.  Sarah swung at him with her staff and he jumped to his feet.

    "ARMOR OF TORRENT!!!! TOU SHIN!"

    "ARMOR OF HARDROCK!!!! TOU GI!"

Kento attacked Sarah with his bo, "Eat dirt!!!" he exclaimed as he lunged forward.  Sarah was knocked backward a few yards.  "Ha!  You're not so tough!!"  All of the sudden, Kento was knocked on his back and Sarah was standing over him.

"That was so fast!  I couldn't even see it!" Sai was shocked.

"You may have about 500 lbs. more weight behind your hits than I, but I'm a lot faster than you," Sarah stated.

"Are you calling me fat?!!!!" Kento yelled.

    "Yes."  Sarah attacked him again.

Back to the desert with Sage, Ryo, and Rowen:

Katie was fighting with Ryo and Then Rowen jumped in too.  Sage stood prepared on the sidelines.  "We need the jewel if we're ever going to save the girls.  Mia, please see this.  We need you to see it," Sage thought as he lifted his sword in the air.  "AHHHHHhhhhh!!!!!"  A beam of blue light shot out of his sword into the sky.

Mia was standing outside looking into the distance.  She clutched the Jewel of Life in her hands and closed her eyes.  "Where are they?" she whispered to herself.

She heard the Ancient One's voice in her head say, "Turn around."  She looked up, surprised and maybe even a little frightened, and spun around.  She saw Sage's signal beginning to fade away and still reflecting off the clouds.

"That light!  It's them!"  Mia tugged open the door of her jeep and almost immediately after, sped off in the direction the light came from.

Ryo was slammed to the dirt and Katie stepped on his back.  Ryo screamed out.  Rowen lunged at Katie, but she grabbed hold of his bow and swung him to the side.  His face completely covered in sand.  Sage stood at the side of the fight, and Katie seemed to pay no attention to him, or Rowen.  Her gaze was focused on Ryo.  Ryo looked up at her evil smirk.  "Why are you doing this?  Katie?"

Katie took her foot off of him.  Ryo began to try to get up when Katie grabbed the horn on his helmet and dragged him to his feet.  Rowen lifted his face out of the sand and his eyes grew wide went he saw Sage just standing there, not doing anything.  "Why isn't he helping Ryo?!!  What's his problem?"

Katie spun around and flung Ryo.  He hit his head on the rocky earth and his helmet fell off.  Katie walked over to him and said, "Don't you just wish that Anubis would come to help you?  Hm?"

"Anubis?" Sage whispered to himself.  Katie looked at Sage.

"He seems to be your only hope."

Ryo thought, "So this is all about Anubis.  Why?  What do they have planned for him?"

Katie knelt down and picked up Ryo's helmet.  Rowen lunged at Katie and she bashed him in the face with Wildfire's helmet.  Rowen fell to his knees, hand covering his face, making a pain-filled noise.  "Try to be a man about it, Strata," Katie said, just before she burst into maniacal laughter.  Rowen moved his hand away from his face to reveal a cut between his eyes and a bloody nose.  Katie kicked Rowen on his side.

"Rowen!!!!!" Sage yelled as he sprang into action, lunging full force at Katie.

"Sage!!  The plan!!!!" Ryo yelled.  Katie, surprised by his outburst turned her glance from Sage back to Ryo.  She was obviously confused but she managed to dodge Sage's blade.  Ryo tried to help Sage but it was difficult to get close.  Katie stopped Sage's sword with Ryo's helmet.  They grit their teeth, trying to overpower eachother.  Katie's eyes were wide with anger.

"You guys were playing the whole time, weren't you?!!" Katie spat out.

    "Maybe," Sage stated.

"Super Wave SMASHER!!!!"  Sarah skillfully dodged Sai's attack and attacked him. They continued to fight as Kento joined in.

Mia sped down the highway as it began to get dark.  "I hope I'm still going the right way.  Hang on guys." She saw lightning out of the corner of her eye as she drove.  "Huh?  A storm?  Or is it another signal?"  The jewel began to glow.  Mia cut across and intersection, nearing getting into a accident.  She drove through a field that was rapidly turning to a sandy desert-like area.

"Next time, tell me your plan.  Acting like you're getting beat.  Like I was going to guess that!" Rowen complained to Ryo as they helped eachother toward the battle.

"We needed a better idea of what they were up to.  When Katie was fighting me, she seemed to be holding back more than usual.  Now we know that she wanted me to call for Anubis, so that she could kill him," Ryo explained.

    "Just tell me next time."

Sage fell in front of them.  He jumped to his feet right away and jumped as a fireball hit the ground where he just was.  Katie attacked Rowen and Ryo.  Sage landed on the ground behind her and was about to attack when the guys all shot up in flames.  "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!"

Katie smiled. "Just say it."  She touched under Ryo's chin.  "Just three little words.  Anubis.  Help.  Me.  Simple as that.  Why bother protecting him?  He can take care of himself just fine.  He has for over 700 years."  Katie turned to Rowen next.  "You never truly trusted Anubis, so why are you trying to protect him.  I'm sure Ryo isn't the only one who can summon him.  Halo, I know you want to call him." She twisted his loose hair around her fingers. "This pain will stop as soon as you call Anubis, I promise."

"Your promises aren't worth anything to us," Rowen protested.

    "You're so obstinate."

"I'm surprised a dumb-blonde even knows what "obsinante" is.  Or are you just pretending to have a brain?" Rowen said.

"Is that a rhetorical question?"  Katie smiled.

Katie heard Sarah's voice in her head.  "Did you get Anubis called yet?"

    Katie answered, "No, you?"

Sarah was standing in a field with Sai and Kento passed out at her feet.  "I kinda used too much force."  Kento and Sai began to moan and get up slowly, as the jewel glowed around Mia's neck.

Katie looked out the corner of her eye as she heard the slightest sound.  The view zoomed in on the field of sand until Mia in her jeep was visible to Katie.  "Hmm, Sarah, you can come down here, and have some fun for a while. But no need to rush."

Sarah's voice came through to Katie sounding very excited, "Yeah!" Sarah began to disappear as Kento and Sai tackled her.  They all reappeared in the sand, next to Katie.  Suddenly, Kento and Sai went up in flames like the other Ronin Warriors.

    "Sarah..!" Katie exclaimed with frustration.

"They should have stayed knocked out for at least three more hours.  I don't know how they woke up," Sarah answered.

"Mia's coming!" Ryo exclaimed as he saw the jeep aproaching.

    "Don't tell them!" Kento warned.

Katie turned back to them.  "We already knew.  And we've been waiting."

Anubis was meditating on a rock next to a stream.  "The power of the Dynasty's evil and Sarah and Katie's strength are incredibly strong.  My only hope is that the jewel of life can break the Dynasty's hold on them, before it's too late," Anubis thought to himself.

Mia drove toward the Ronins when Sarah shot fire at the sand, turning it to liquid and the jeep began to sink in.  Mia opened her door and slowly climbed onto the roof of her car.  Suddenly Katie jumped on her and held Mia's wrists in her hands.  "Now, what do you think you're doing here?   Haha Fool!  You're nothing but a mere mortal. No powers, armor, nothing!" Katie said.

"Let me go.  Or else!" Mia exclaimed.

"Or else what?" Katie asked, amused by Mia's lack of strength.  Then whiteblaze jumped over the jeep and knocked Katie to the ground, tackling her.  She through him off of her and he landed next to Ryo.

    "White Blaze!" Ryo called.

The tiger attacked Katie again and she shot him with a fire ball.  Katie looked a mess.  She began to slowly comb her hair into place with her fingers.  "Stupid tiger," she mumbled.

White Blaze began to get up and Sarah used her orange flames to paralyze him, just like the Ronin Warriors were.  "There you go kitty!"

Mia jumped down off her jeep and held the jewel of life close to her as she faced the battlefield.  She tried to gather her courage.   "Over here!"  Katie and Sarah turned their heads to face Mia.  Their faces both transformed to evil smirks.  Mia took a step back.  Katie and Sarah nodded to eachother and jumped at Mia.  Mia held out the Jewel of Life and it glittered with life.  It's power hit the evil sisters' armor and flung them back, screaming.  Mia breathed a sigh of relief as the sand swept over Katie and Sarah's motionless bodies and the fire surrounding the ronins and White Blaze disappeared.

Kento yelled, "She did it! Yeah!"

    Sage answered back, "Wait."

"Wait for what?   We won!" Ryo told Sage.

"You need to lighten up, Sage, my my man," Kento added.

"Use your heads guys.   Those jerks could still be evil!  Keep on your toes!" Rowen told all of them.

Katie and Sarah began to get back up.  "Rowen's right," Sarah said, her voice sounding a bit hoarse.   "You should listen to him more often."

Mia was still holding the jewel out in front of her.  Her expression was of pure terror when she exclaimed, "It didn't work?!"

Epmeror Kubi contacted Katie and Sarah through their minds.  "Forget Anubis, get the jewel."

Then Sarah said, "Well la ti da.  A change of orders."

"Good, I was kinda gettin' sick of this mission," Katie said.

"Iron Rock Crusher!!!!"  Katie held her arm up to block the attack as Sarah lunged at Mia.

    Sarah tackled Mia, "Help!   Anubis!!!"

Katie said with sarcasm, "Sure, they call him now."  Sarah knocked the jewel out of Mia's hands and they both srambled for it as it landed a few feet away.  Sarah grabbed it first but was intercepted by a yellow light that shot her hand.  She dropped it in pain and looked up.  Anubis landed down on the battlefield.  The Ronins finally made it over to Mia.  Ryo fell to his knees next to her to check her wounds.  Sai picked up the jewel, careful that no one was watching.  Katie appeared next to Sarah as she was getting up.  "Hello Anubis.  Nice of you to finally drop by," Katie said, looking cool with her arms crossed.

"Well, we're out numbered, just a little.   Better be on our way, ta ta," Sarah said as she and Katie disappeared.  When they reappeared, they collapsed to the floor in their Dynasty hut.  "Tired!" Sarah moaned.

"Tell me about it!" Katie agreed.   "Holding back power is tough."  Sarah threw a rock behind her back at Katie, missing.  Katie giggled.

The Ronin Warriors all fell to the ground with exaustion.  Anubis went to Mia.  "Mia, are you alright?"

    She nodded.  "I'll be fine."

Kento lifted one eyebrow.  "What's up with them?" The guys looked at eachother and then back at Mia and Anubis.
